Sanitary transport in Lodz is carried out using "T" type ambulances. The sanitary transport team consists of a driver and a paramedic. Falck Medycyna is the disposer, contracted by the National Health Fund, of Medical Transport Teams. The ZTM provides services when it is necessary to transport a Patient between providers who provide guaranteed benefits for hospital treatment, for the following conditions:
1) respiratory failure requiring artificial ventilation.
2) cardiovascular failure.
3) conditions requiring surgical intervention and after surgery.
4) others (e.g., seizures).
In medically justified cases, it is the responsibility of the entity ordering the transport to provide medical care during the transport. Medical transports are carried out from hospital to hospital, on a bed-to-bed basis.
